The Shoals, Alabama | Renaissance Shoals + Shoals Convention Center

 Guest Safety

Please be advised that SkyDog will have enhanced security measures in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests. We encourage you to carefully review the list of prohibited items and arrive early to allow extra time for entry and screening. All entrances will include metal detectors and security checks.

SkyDog reserves the right, without refund, to refuse admission or remove any person who fails to comply with festival rules, venue policies, or local, state, or federal laws, or whose conduct is deemed unsafe, disorderly, or disruptive.

All attendees assume inherent risks associated with attending a live event, including but not limited to weather conditions, crowd movement, noise levels, and other related factors before, during, and after the event.

Your safety is our top priority. If you see something, say something. Please report any concerns to a member of our team or a public safety official on-site immediately.

 Health & Safety FAQ

SkyDog is a rain or shine event. However, there are circumstances where the festival may be delayed, paused, evacuated, or canceled due to severe weather conditions. These may include, but are not limited to: lightning, severe thunderstorms, high winds, hail, flooding, or as directed by local emergency management officials.

Festival management will continuously monitor weather conditions and work closely with local authorities and professional weather services to ensure the safest possible experience for all guests.

In the event of severe weather, guests may be instructed to temporarily seek shelter or evacuate the festival grounds. If necessary, activities may be suspended or canceled for the remainder of the day.

As part of our safety plan, the Florence Coliseum will serve as the designated severe weather alternate location.

All updates and instructions will be communicated through:

  • On-site audio and video announcements
  • The official SkyDog mobile app (push notifications)
  • SkyDog social media channels

We strongly recommend downloading the official app and following SkyDog on social media to stay informed throughout the weekend.

Please be advised that tents, temporary structures, and the VIP viewing platform are not safe places to seek shelter during severe weather. Follow all instructions from festival staff and public safety officials at all times.

Your designated shelter location will depend on how you arrived at SkyDog. Staff and signage will be available to assist you.

Fans Who Parked

Guests who drove to the festival should return to their vehicles to seek shelter. Clearly marked routes will guide you safely back to parking areas.

Fans Who Arrived by Shuttle or Rideshare

Guests without access to a personal vehicle should proceed to the Renaissance Shoals Convention Center at the Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa for shelter.

Entrances and routes will be clearly marked on the festival map, and evacuation signage and staff will be available to assist.

Fans Staying at Nearby Hotels

Guests staying at the Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa or partner hotels should proceed to the Renaissance Shoals Convention Center for shelter unless otherwise directed by staff.

Fans with Disabilities

Guests who may require additional time or assistance are encouraged to check in at the Accessibility Center upon arrival for guidance and support during any emergency situation.

After a Temporary Evacuation

When guests are instructed to seek temporary shelter, our goal is to resume festival activities as soon as conditions are safe.

Guests will be notified when it is safe to return to the grounds through:

  • On-site announcements
  • SkyDog social media channels

Ample time will be provided for re-entry before performances resume.

If conditions do not allow for the festival to continue, guests will be notified that the event is canceled for the remainder of the day and asked to exit the grounds safely.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Staying hydrated is essential, especially in the summer heat.

Guests may bring one factory-sealed bottle of water or an empty reusable water bottle into the festival (no glass). Free water refill stations will be available throughout the grounds.

Water and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase at concession stands throughout the festival.

All SkyDog guests are encouraged to have a personal safety plan in place before arriving at the festival.

Your personal safety plan should include:

  • Reviewing the festival map in advance
  • Knowing your nearest exits from all areas you visit
  • Understanding where to seek shelter during an evacuation
  • Making a plan with your group on where to meet in the event you become separated

If you are parking on-site or in designated festival lots, please remember where you parked. We also recommend leaving extra water in your vehicle.

If you are arriving by shuttle or rideshare, take note of the routes to the Renaissance Shoals Convention Center at the Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa, which serves as the primary shelter location for guests without vehicles.

If you are staying at the Renaissance Shoals Hotel & Spa or nearby partner hotels, familiarize yourself with indoor areas and routes to the convention center in case of severe weather.

In the event of inclement weather or an emergency, guests will be notified through on-site announcements, signage, and festival staff, who will be available to assist and direct you as needed.

Planning ahead helps ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone at SkyDog.

We love seeing families and young music fans at SkyDog, and we want to make sure everyone stays safe and connected throughout the weekend.

Before heading into the festival, make a plan with your group:

  • Choose a clear, easy-to-find meeting point
  • Make sure everyone knows what to do if they get separated
  • Remind children to look for festival staff or security if they need help

We recommend using the Medical Tent near the main Info Booth as the primary reunification point. Festival staff will be available to assist with reconnecting groups as quickly as possible.

If you need help at any time, please visit the Info Booth or Medical Tent, or speak with any member of the SkyDog team.

While security will be present throughout SkyDog, the festival is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Please keep your valuables with you at all times and be sure to lock your vehicle when not in use. We encourage guests to travel light and only bring essential items into the festival.

Our team at SkyDog is committed to creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone. We ask all guests to be responsible while enjoying the festival.

Underage drinking is strictly prohibited, as are illegal substances of any kind.

If you choose to consume alcohol, please do so responsibly and make hydration a priority. Free water refill stations are available throughout the festival, and we encourage all guests to take advantage of them.

A full list of permitted and prohibited items can be found on our Festival Info page.

Employees, contractors, vendors, artists, and guests are encouraged to report any interaction or situation that makes them feel uncomfortable.

If you see something, say something. Safety and awareness are a shared responsibility at SkyDog.

If anything feels out of place or suspicious, please notify the nearest staff member, security personnel, or medical team immediately. Our team is here to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on-site.
