RODNEY HALL

Rodney Hall is the President of legendary FAME Recording Studios and Publishing in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.  His father was the late legendary Record Producer Rick Hall, the father of the Muscle Shoals Sound and the founder of FAME Recording Studios. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from UNA and his masters from Alabama, Rodney started working at FAME in 1991 after a two year stint in corporate computer sales in Huntsville within space and rocket industry.  Initially at FAME he was working as an assistant engineer and publishing assistant. Since that time he has worked in every aspect of FAME’s business including publishing, administration, production, engineering as well as developing the tourism aspects of the historic recording studio. For over 25 years Rodney and his brother Mark have owned and run House of Fame and Fame Publishing.  Some of the award winning writers they have signed and worked with include Jason Isbell, James LeBlanc, Phillip White, Russell Smith, Victoria Banks, Gary Nichols, Kate Campbell, Tony Colton, Darryl Worley and Dave Gibson.  Over the years Rodney has also worked in the studio on recordings with legendary artists such as Clarence Carter, Candi Staton, Jason Isbell, Gregg Allman, the Revivalists and Alabama.  In 2019 Rodney co-produced the #1 Americana album “Muscle Shoals-Small Town Big Sound” with legendary producer Keith Stegall which included recordings by Steven Tyler, Demi Lovato,  Chris Stapleton, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Keb Mo, Alison Krauss, Michael McDonald, Aloe Blacc and more.  The album also included the Americana #1 single “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Grace Potter.  Currently Rodney has revived FAME Records and have had records on the charts with Mike Farris, The Dead Daisies and Kensie Coppin.

Rodney is the president of the Muscle Shoals Music Association, the founding board member of the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation which owns Muscle Shoals Sound Studio at 3614 Jackson Highway and a board member of the Muscle Shoals Songwriter’s festival.
